01

How it works

01

Pick a journey

Choose a curated route like the NC500 or a town walk, or plan your own between any two places.

02

Drive or walk

StoryDrive watches your location in the background and knows when you're approaching somewhere with a story.

03

Listen hands-free

The story starts on its own, plays through your car speakers, and stops when you do. No tapping, no reading.

02

Why it feels different

Written for the ear

Every story is scripted in a narrative, documentary style — the sort you'd hear on a good history podcast, not a plaque read aloud.

Grounded in real sources

Scripts are built from Wikipedia, Wikivoyage and Wikidata, with sources shown on every story and a report button if something looks wrong.

Safe to use while moving

Large targets, high contrast, lock-screen controls and a glanceable map. The app is designed so you never need to look at it.

Common questions

Do I need to plan ahead?
No. Open a curated journey and press start, or type where you're going and StoryDrive builds the route and its stories for you.
Does it work for walking?
Yes. Town walks use tighter trigger radii and shorter stories, so pieces land as you pass each building rather than a mile early.
What if I lose signal?
Audio for a journey is pre-fetched before you set off, so stories keep playing through the gaps.
What does it cost?
Browsing and listening to curated journeys is free. Generating brand-new stories is capped per day while the app is in early access.
